Chestnuts are the queens of the autumn season and today we offer a delicious chestnut recipe: couscous and chestnut doughnuts. The recipe is by our Francesca Lucisano foodblogger at Giallo Zafferano.

Ingredients for 6 doughnuts:

  • 100 g medium couscous;
  • 200 ml milk;
  • 100 g of sugar;
  • 50 g of chestnut flour;
  • 50 g 00 flour;
  • 50 ml seed oil;
  • 1 egg;
  • 1 sachet of baking powder for cakes;
  • 1 sachet of vanillin

Procedure:

Pour the couscous into a bowl and wet it with warm milk. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff it up with a fork.

Add the vanillin, sugar and egg and continue to stir the mixture with a spoon. Add the flours and seed oil and stir again.

Finally add the yeast and give the mixture a final stir. Divide the mixture into a doughnut mould and bake in the oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.

After this time, take out of the oven and leave to cool. Serve!
